After nine deaths at the Hollywood Hills nursing home, Florida finally issued an emergency license suspension. The nursing home lost air conditioning due to Hurricane Irma, leaving older residents without proper temperature control in Florida's summer heat. One 84 year old resident had a personal temperature of 108.3 F before dying at a local hospital. It was uncovered that the medical records of several residents had been edited to inaccurately report safer vitals and conditions. Florida restricted Hollywood Hills from continuing their services and terminated their ability to operate as a nursing home or admit any further patients.
